Already we’re off to a rocky start. Week 3 has come with several unexpected challenges. I had a somewhat surprise holiday on Monday. You would think that a surprise holiday would be a good thing but sadly it didn’t save me from a rocky start to the week.
Where was my focus at this week?
My focus was mostly back and work and on living room furniture finds. I spent far too much of my free time searching FB Marketplace and various other buying options looking for furniture to replace my current worn-out sofa bed. It’s made it about 12 years and it’s heavy.
I found that I was losing myself in my searching and staying up far too late. Therefore grocery shopping got dropped as well as any intention of watercolor. I also did only one or two 10 minute workouts.
Where were my stressors this week?
Where to start. I woke up unable to pinch my fingers together and then it turned into both arms tingling. I had quite a bit of pain in the neck again and decided to take Nuertec to stop whatever was going on. However, it made me a bit nauseous.
The rest of the week I failed to get to sleep early and spent far too much energy searching for living room items online. I only turned up one. It became a weird obsession and I had a very hard time stopping. It also seemed the wind my brain up. My sleep was then terribly short.
On top of that, I had work stress with delays from a supplier and stressful meetings with other departments in our company. I didn’t plan out my days or monitor my intentions and moods as I went and clearly found myself caught up in a lot of stress.
Then I’m ending the weekend having caught some sort of cold and scrambling to figure out my company’s policy for non-COVID cold/flu attendance, etc. I had hoped I was just mouth breathing all night when I woke up Saturday morning but the symptoms continued to be more distinct and aggressive, so no luck.
What were my wins this week?
The biggest win was probably that even with the muscle weakness and migraine I managed to get into work only 3 hours late and mostly feeling okay. I kept trying things and eventually it was enough. I also would say that it mostly did stop there.
With all the online shopping I was able to find a large round ottoman in my budget for $75, which seems more than fair to me. It is exactly what I had wanted for an ottoman coffee table. It’s firm but comfortable.
I started an Instacart shopping list. I hope it’s still there when I’m ready to order.
I managed to remember almost every day to use the Cefaly device.
Set intentions for next week.
Back off of living room décor for a bit and focus on getting enough sleep with some very light exercise. I also want to get groceries brought in.
I’m not going to put so much pressure on myself to do as much this week because work will be busier but I definitely want to keep using the Cefaly and sleeping as much as I can, which is very hard with a head cold.
