The Story Behind Lighter Happier Living

Your Home Should Be a Launchpad, Not a Source of Guilt.

I started Lighter Happier Living as a blog after a serious car accident left me dealing with physical limitations and overwhelming mental exhaustion. Daily household management suddenly felt impossible.

Through that lived experience, I discovered that traditional organizing methods — which demand perfectionism, rigid routines, and expensive container systems — often set people up to fail. So I developed a compassionate, reality-based approach that adapts to chronic fatigue, ADHD, grief, career demands, and busy families.

Before organizing homes, I spent 15 years as an industrial engineer setting up efficient workstations. Now I use that same systems thinking for real families in real homes. I come from an industrial engineering background, so I build systems that work for real people, not ideal ones.

"I want everyone to experience the freedom and comfort that a simplified home can provide. Your home should be a launchpad for all the wonderful things you choose to do with your life."— Me, Amanda
My Guiding Values

What Makes My Approach Different

1. Zero Pressure

Letting go can be emotional. I never pressure you to discard sentimental items. You have the final say on every single object.

2. Able to Adapt

We design around your energy levels, whether you're dealing with chronic illness, ADHD, physical fatigue, or neurodivergence.

3. Focused Effort

We work in short, focused sprints so you see and feel a difference without burning out.

4. Ergonomic Systems

Organizing is only good if it's easy to maintain. I place everyday items at your natural reach height so putting things away is effortless.

5. Customized to Your Life and Your Brain

I'm not one-size-fits-all. We problem-solve together and build systems around how YOUR brain works, your organizing style, your energy, and your real schedule.

6. Micro-Sprints That Add Up

Short, focused sprints create visible wins without burnout. Small steps, done consistently, add up to a home that actually works.
