Did I Fail The Mins Game?

Reflecting on The Minimalists' 30-day decluttering challenge. What happens when life interrupts, and why progress always matters more than perfection.

The 'Mins Game' is a famous challenge created by Ryan Nicodemus and Joshua Fields Millburn: get rid of 1 item on day 1, 2 on day 2, 3 on day 3, all the way to 30 items on day 30. That equals nearly 500 items out of your house in one month!

I jumped in with great excitement. But midway through, life happened — client sessions, fatigue, travel.

Did I 'fail'? Absolutely not.

Decluttering is not a test where you receive an F if you don't cross the finish line on schedule. Every single item that left my home made my living space noticeably lighter and calmer than it was 30 days prior. Give yourself grace and count every win.
