This has been a rough week.  However, I’ve been able to end it productively.  Before I go into the usual weekly review content, I had some fun experimenting with a robot vacuum and finished installing curtains and curtain rods for my living room.  It won’t be finished until the furniture arrives and unfortunately, the chair won’t arrive until August.

I bought a Yeedi vacuum/mop kit on Amazon as a lightning deal (in the $350 range) and it came with a part broken that the manufacturer sent a replacement part for so I’ve been having some fun experimenting with it.  It took getting my curtain rods up to get all the cardboard out before I was able to give it a go, but I’ve been very satisfied with it so far.

My router isn’t compatible with the app which takes away a lot of the smart features but so far this thing seems worth it.  I hope to call my internet provider about an upgrade in the router to use smart home devices, so hopefully, before the return window is closed I’ll be able to test that out.  However, I hate dragging out the vacuum to pick up the debris that we bring in by foot and I don’t have animals or small children so this is doing a great job of keeping the dust at bay.

I was hesitant about getting it mostly for the price.  As you simplify your spaces, cleaning becomes easier in general, but dust is a trigger for me and if this can help me stay on top of it, it’s probably worth it.  I do think it has the potential to knock over my collapsible plant stand and it’s making a serious effort to knock over my folding Pilates reformer, but so far neither has fallen.

What was I focusing on this week?

My focus this week has been entirely about recovering.  I triggered a mast cell attack and then the weather came in and triggered migraines.  I’ve been fighting fatigue and had to order a lot of food as my supply ran out or went bad.

What were my stressors this week?

Last week on Friday I’d walked nearly 5k with a friend and then hung curtains.  The walking without hydrating plus climbing ladders and working above my shoulders set me up for a migraine.  The temp dropped and it snowed Monday and triggered a migraine.

While I’ve changed my birth control to run continuously to try to avoid menstrual migraines, it appears this skip wasn’t entirely successful.  At the end of the week, spotting occurred so it’s likely that the migraine was prolonged due to the breakthrough period.

What were my successes this week?

Mostly, my successes were having work prepped ahead of time and getting in to do Trigger-point Dry Needle therapy to reset my locked up muscles.  Last week’s prep was also a success and this weekend’s catchup should help do the rest. I was able to do more this weekend and was able to stretch it out using this YouTube yoga video for stretching neck and shoulder muscles. It was great!

What is my focus next week?

I plan to get back on track with budgeting.  January is caught up and balanced but February will close soon.  This is re-enrollment week for my health care plan and I’ve just finished analyzing last year’s expenses.

Additionally, I will refocus on eating better at home and exercise in small portions.  I found a great YouTube neck and shoulder stretch that I hope to utilize to help lose some of that chronic tightness.

Work will be very busy so I’m going to keep it simple at home this week.  During the weekend, I may go home to visit family.  If I prep up my meals this week, then I shouldn’t miss having next week at home.  We’ll have to see what the weather does and my health but that’s the plan.
